Debar Mtn.

Does anyone know if the road from route 30 into Debar Mtn. Parking is open?

Also, anyone know the trail this a muddy hike in spring season?

Is it a nice lean-to for camping?

My son and his friends hiked to the lean-to last night (Friday), did the summit today, and then hiked out. He told me:

1. the lean-to was nice although he slept outside of it in his hammock. It is about a 1/2 mile from the summit around 3200 feet.

2. the last 300 yards are steep.

3. They drove to the trail head in his 4w jeep and he had to drive slow and carefully.

4. the trail was muddy.

Even if you can't make the drive into the campground, you can still park along the road and it doesn't add very much distance to your hike.

It's a nice lean-to, but I don't think I've ever seen any other lean-to with more graffiti on it.
