They had an attack in the last few days from some malicious virus...luckily, I avoided most of that stuff thanks to good firewalls.
Not sure if the site owners/admins know how to deal with such attacks.
Too bad, they had a good thing going.

I never understood the anonymous destruction of sites in that way.
Kind of like white suburban teen angst manifested by slashing tires, breaking windows, and other immature behavior.

Yeah its destruction was most likely just a pet project for some DB. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that. It wasn't a big site either, just a few regulars. Wish I could have helped but I know nothing about site management or protection.

Yes there was a v bulletin hack that started last month for A LOT of forums. Before losing all your feathers, give the fixers time to fix!

I wasn't sure we had any fixers. That is why I asked if it will be back.

This bird analogy has my mind reeling. Sometimes his Audubon clock goes nuts if the moon shines in the window at 2 am. There is a shrill bird call then. Of course normally it's not heard. But he has a bird afghan handy just in case.
