CL 50 trail condition?

After months of planning and anticipation we are finally starting our Cranberry Lake 50 trip next week. We are all very excited for this trip. I just hope we have some nice weather!

Has anybody been in this area lately? What are the trail conditions like from Wanakena down to High Falls? I have read that finding dead & down wood near the Oswegatchie may be tough, what about the rest of the trail?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, you can expect to have a hard time finding legal firewood at High Falls. Thanks to the microburst, it's primarily young green stems growing up there now, and very few trees have died/lost stems in recent years so theres no firewood.

There is some extensive flooding along the truck trail from Wanakena to High Falls, but nothing you can't walk around.

The rest of the trail is in pretty good shape, although it's a bit hard to figure out which path to follow along the new section that goes between Chair Rock Flow and Dog Pond. Some more signage in this area is needed, so pay close attention here.

A fire is not really a necessity so if there is no wood it won't be a big deal. Thanks for the heads up on the new section btw Chair Rock and Dog Pond, I'll pay attention here!
