Interesting read.

Notorious global warming skeptic, Michael Shermer, who publishes the Magazine Skeptic and is the Executive Director of the Skeptics Society (man is this guy a skeptic or what?) authored an article explaining why he is no longer a *gasp* skeptic about this issue.

My favorite quote:

As an undergraduate in the 1970s, I learned (and believed) that by the 1990s overpopulation would lead to worldwide starvation and the exhaustion of key minerals, metals and oil, predictions that failed utterly. Politics polluted the science and made me an environmental skeptic.

Nevertheless, data trump politics, and a convergence of evidence from numerous sources has led me to make a cognitive switch on the subject of anthropogenic global warming. My attention was piqued on February 8 when 86 leading evangelical Christians--the last cohort I expected to get on the environmental bandwagon--issued the Evangelical Climate Initiative calling for "national legislation requiring sufficient economy-wide reductions" in carbon emissions.
Haha, the underlined cracks me up for some reason.

Alright as fascinating as this is and as much fun as it has been discussing this with everyone, if I don't stop reading these threads during my down time I will never get my Northville Placid site updated. So if you see me back in here please yell at me

This is probably a good place to close this discussion, as two Global Warming threads are not needed.
