And just where do I procure a Carpathian War Dog??? Hamish the Border Collie seems a poor substitute.

The flying monkeys arrived with their cargo. Aside from some minor bites and scratches the hand-off went fine.

Which means I'll transfer everything tomorrow and get it all in the mail on Monday!

Hey how did the fly swap go? I logged in a little to late to get in on the fun. I tied a flashy little nymph last year that the brook trout seamed to love. I never did name it or write down the pattern. I'll have to find one and tie a bunch for next year.

Would there be any interest in a tying get together? Hooks, feathers and scotch with like minded friends all seem to go together.

Yes…if it isn't too much trouble VT…the last swap you did a really cool photo shoot of all the flies in the swap before you distributed them out. Just a thought…

Also, great to see you back EC!

The Moment You've All Been Waiting For

I described my two ties earlier. Others might want to describe their ties and any tying techniques they care to share.

Great flies, gents! Nobody is going to have difficulty catching a fish on each and every one.

There are going to be some extras. I'm open to suggestions. One is to donate them to the New Haven River Angler's Association for our youth program. That's what I've done in years past.

Off to get envelopes. Flies will be in the mail tomorrow afternoon!

Flies are sorted, packaged, addressed and ready for delivery. If the flying monkeys come back I'll let them deliver. Give them a small treat or they'll bite.

If no monkeys then I'll resort to the postal service tomorrow at lunchtime.

Thanks VT! Very nice close-ups of each fishy looking fly! I agree! We all should get good results fishing these goodies this spring. I can`t wait!

Incidentally, my ties are VT`s first two photos posted. The Black Marabou Peacock Wonder and a Golden Hornberg.I already described them pretty good ,but if you guys have any questions,I`ll be around to answer! Thanks all! Nice job! And a special thank you to VT for the extra work.

and…can't forget Sero`s extraordinary flying monkey express…I can see a movie coming out soon with his famous flying monkeys in it,it would be kind of like a combination of the Wizard of Oz and Harry Potter movies.

Nice job on those extremely ,amazingly ,long preparation for your breadcrusts Sero. But, you're our "hero" ,again.. You did it.. these flies look great.Fish are gonna chomp them up.
I like`em just like that. Its the crunch ,when they hit that turns this fly into not the average fly. Especially, the orange head ones . Nice attracting ability. Increases your hits. Nice job bud! Where the heck did you end up finding those grouse tails in the brown stage btw…?? I can see these in the corner of a trout this spring. Thanks.
The other flies , I know gmorin fly when I see it.. the others I have no clue.. please fill me in..

awesome pictures! there are some great ties in there, cant wait to get the package! I think that should be our running goal this year...to catch a fish on every fly in this swap.

Haha, WB, I hope knowing my fly when you see it is a good thing!

That caddis pupa looks like a great pattern too, who tied that?

Sero the bread crusts look great and VT, cant wait to get yours. I've euro nymphed before, but I get stuck in my ways and tend to stick to what I enjoy. I am getting into euro nymphing more this year so excited to add that to my box. This stemmed from being outfished on one of my regular rivers no lie about 10-1
