I wonder what they thought of Seymour Mountain. Their lucky in alot of ways, but they are extremely lucky we don't have the normal deep deep snowpack. That the high peaks r known for.

Holy Cow. I've done this stretch of the NPT in winter. It took us 7 days. To even think that this would be doable in a single day is insane.

I would imagine, considering it was a 1 AM Sunday (as in late Saturday night P*A*R*T*Y) departure, their thinking was more than just slightly impaired.

I wonder are they bragging about their adventure or humbled by it?

Great job to the rangers and rescue people for saving the lives of these two . Venturing out with a couple of bagels and 1 canteen ,dressed in sweats and carharts into the high peaks , middle of winter ,one in the morning , Definately Qualifies them for the Darwin award for January, They probably won't ,but these two should be charged for the rescue and danger they put the rangers through ,let alone getting them up and out of the their warm houses in the middle of Jan. The only way some people will learn from their lack of brains is through their pocketbook , Npt ,middle of winter ,one day with no gear ,yeah right, they better thank their lucky stars for their rescuers.
