The Cabins at Chimney Mountain

I havenít done a trip report in a while mostly due to some forum technical difficulties, and since we are all stuck at home getting bored out of our minds during this crazy time, I figured Iíd share a fun adventure some friends & family & I did a few weeks back in mid February... Iíve been wanting to rent one of these cabins for quite some time. We usually get together once every winter for a weekend of camping & icefishing, but most of the time weíll just tent it or grab a lean-to. This year we decided to give the ďLakeside CabinĒ a try, and we werenít disappointed. Unfortunately we didnít catch any fish, but good times were had non the less! Sure do wish we were back there right now isolating from the rest of the world. Iím sure weíll be back again next winter. Hereís the link to their website, and a few photos to share...

I’m glad that some one else can say they had a great time on a fishing trip even without catching any fish.
Thank you for posting. All trips are great.

Thanks for making the effort to post here. I have been through there on 3 or 4 occasions on my way to Chimney Mountain, but the only involvement I've had with the business is putting the parking money in the box and finding something against which to park my bicycle. It looks like a very nice place for sure, and I'm glad you all had a good time.

Looks like fun! Been there many times but never stayed in the cabins. Judging by the decorations on the mantlepiece, you guys did revel in your isolation.

Agreed on the "wish I were there now" sentiment...

Nice Justin. I wasn't aware they stayed open year round. Something to consider for the future. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for chiming in, guys. We’ll most likely be back again next winter I’m sure. Rates are pretty reasonable too. With the 5 of us it was only $61 each for 2 nights.

I'd like to endorse these cabins as well. I've stayed now a few times there -- it is a great location and a great option for family vacationing. Bass fishing in the summer is a great deal of fun in addition to the trail system.
