I suppose if there was never an apple tree. But I doubt we'd have apple computers now either. And you'd have to go back more than 500 years.Scooting here and there

I wish we never ate the apple. Then IQ wouldn't matter. Just the capacity of our hearts would.Let there be peace on earth and good will toward all.

It is very disturbing to see what is happening. Notice that these pictures generally are not shown on any major network news agencies. Greeneyezz, your original post was to eliminate styrofoam? Isn't that somehow produced from petroleum? Also getting back to the O.P. question, he asked if you could go back as far as 500 years to change something, what would it be. That by itself has a supernatural ability to it's idea, so my idea of having a wish for there to never have been oil to find & develope uses for is valid in that context. This topic was started to ask opinions on "if" you could change something & "if" you could go back in time 500 years. I don't have to provide details of how. It would be like the twilight zone. I'd snap my fingers & it would be done! Like magic & going back in time!

Interesting, in light of all this mess, that you had given 'no oil' for your answer. If I may, I'll piggy-back on that and say that I wish that 500 years ago we all operated from a Green and sustainable framework. That way, way wouldn't have any need for something like oil and styrofoam.
And I wish it was a easy as snapping one's fingers.
