Question Allen trail head parking on weekends?

If I arrive at the Allen trailhead in the afternoon on a nice weekend day in August, what is the probability that the lot will be full? I presume that during a weekday, parking would be no problem no matter when I arrive, but correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

You should be ok. We were there two week ends ago and the lot was not full.

I presume you mean the trailhead near Mount Adams. If so, I have seen it filled to overflowing several times in the past. The last time I started there (August 2012) it was full so I parked up the road a bit, at a new lot by the blast furnace.

Summer is coming to an end. Many peakbaggers save Allen for near the end of their 46. Also, our ADKHighpeaks Foundation just completed the restoration of the Adams Fire tower, so more people will be going up to check it out. I would think there is a decent chance the lot will be full.

If the lot is full it is not an issue. Roadside parking is not regulated along upper works road.
