Here I spend yesterday roaming a scenic area I have plans to winter camp at a few times this coming winter.

I watched a few videos from the manufacturer's website -- they don't appear to be light. How'd you get it out of your truck by yourself? Ramps?

I might be interested in that depending on temps. Not sure I'd enjoy myself once it gets into the low teens.

"AWE trip"

Well, no destination has been set. Could choose a place close by. AWE trip looks like a day hike.

Yeah I had mentioned in the trip comments that I might plan to camp somewhere nearby after the hike if anyone was interested (weather permitting)...maybe grab one of the sites at Putts or something, and a couple participants expressed some interest. However, I really wouldnít want to hijack any plans on our trip leader, but of course you all are free to do as you like. I certainly wouldnít be against a Putts Party.

Certainly do not wish to hijack. Looks like they are close to 8 travelers as it stands (never heard of AWE so just signed up - thanks). Sites on Putnam may be close enough to parking lot to lure some shoulder season campers out. Also some interesting lean to's in that neck of the woods - although I have not hiked the area.

OK...unless there's a secret handshake you need to know or some other password...would someone tell me what AWE stands for? Thanks!

Until next time....be well.

I know youíve been there, your off-trail campsite seeking skills surpass DuctTapeís.
Was great to be back, I do love that spot!
