Lake George Ice Fishing

I may be heading up for a March Ice fishing trip for the first time. I have only fished by boat. Are any of the lake side motels open this time of year? I was hoping to stay on the lake so I can just walk out and fish if possible. Any insight
, intel, or reports? Thanks.

I am not sure on the hotels, but I would plan the trip sooner rather then later with the projected temps for the next two weeks. Lake George goes out quick once it starts.

Although today was cold, on Sunday, the top inch of the ice was soft. About 5-8 inches right now depending on where you're at. S/B fine this weekend, not sure about the next given the forecast.

Some, but not all motels are open. I'd check those along 9N between the Village and Bolton, and on up to Hague.
