The big west wind we had last week took out most of it. I heard that the ice is really piled up at Sylvan Beach

I will be driving down through the adks to meet up with family sunday. From SL to Northville. Will check the ponds along the way and try to measure ice thickness to get an idea of what we are looking at.

just started to thaw out some of our local streams. They have been iced over all winter up until a few days ago. noticed some shore melt on colby and a small opening by radar sign where a small ditch runs into the lake. BUT its colder than a witches *** . Looks like this is the last of the super cold for us with warm and rain forecasted for the future.

Just came across this web cam at Hoel Pond which includes links to many others that may be informative on snow/ice conditions: https://k2rl.com/pondcam/index.htm?f...YzTxH5nFH208C4

Plenty of ice on this 30 acre pond. 1300' elevation in southern Hamilton County.

Mirror Lake still frozen. Franklin Falls all ice except at the dam and the inlet. A couple of higher elevation ponds I visited are locked up. Lake Champlain at Point au Rouche had 20" ice in oneof the bays last week.

for what it is worth, the Lake of Two Mountains (Ottawa River) has clear open pieces of water but we are still a long way to go. My yard still has at least 2 foot of snow.

Beer of choice near here Castor Yakima IPA. Beer of choice from back home, well almost anything hand pulled!

Here is a link to the Mirror Lake live webcam. Looks like it is changing some but still all iced up. May not make it until my prediction of April 29th...

My plan is to take a 30 of the best sit on the shore and pee on the pond’s ice until it’s open

about ten foot of open water on colby along road. Small stream fed impoundments are starting to open up like ray brook and others. Looking like last few days of april perhaps first week of may. Of course waking up to a winter wonderland this morning didnt help. However the extended forcast looks great. I Spent 4 hours trolling Champlain in my kayak at the mouth of the saranac sunday, Nothing running yet. Several other boats and about a dozen fisherman along shores with no fish to be seen. Lots of flooding in our area and it looks to rain a lot this week.

Was scouting turkeys near a pond yesterday in the Lake George area, elevation 1,500 feet. Still plenty of ice. Lake George is open.

Fulton Chain Ice Out

The webb cam up on McCauley Mtn shows some large bays on 2nd and 3rd lakes ice free. A little wind and it won't be long.

The ice i have seen has gotten really dark in the last day or so. With the warm and rain expected we may see more and more open in the next week.

A local stocked lake went out within the last week. Couldn't resist getting out for a bit after work for the first paddle of the year.

Struck out on trout but this little 16" guy made for a good start to the season.

Lucky for him he's outta season.
