You should not have a problem getting a parking space this Sunday. Rain is in the forecast from now to Monday. Last weekend was an U.S. and Canadian holiday with great weather as well as close to peak foliage.

Unless we have a super nice warm weekend, I would be surprised if parking in the garden was ever an issue between now and winter. Backcountry use drops off drastically after Colombus Day weekend, and doesn't pick up again until winter starts.

hunting season

The regular Northern Zone season starts Oct. 22nd. This weekend is muzzleloading. Is that as popular?

I am pondering a hike instead up Round via Ausable Club

Last Saturday the lot was full at 5am when I pulled in...this weekend I suspect not so much! Should be good to go w/ the holidays past us and the cooler and rainier weather. Just have a back up hike set to go from a less popular trailhead, then you are good to go either way

I don't think it is. The lady at the garden said there were a few guys with guns yesterday. However, the weekend after Columbus day is the JBL weekend to close the lodge up. And that is why the lot was nearly full.

Most hunters do muzzleload. Not nearly as many as you will see next weekend when rifle opens in the north though.
