What kind of rod holders are you using. They look like they work really well. On your paddle, is the shaft bent or is that an optical illusion?

ion?

@mike7575 The rod holders I troll with are Scotty rod holders with the Scotty coaming clamp to attach them to the gunnels. They work really well, I have had some pretty big Pike slam the lure and those things stayed tight. The paddle is straight, it might be the fisheye effect of the GoPro that causes it to look like that.

Trout or Salmon

I think St. Regis has it correct. This fish probably came down from Upper Saranac. Upper is much colder and deeper to support trout species. We’ve caught several large brown trout from Middle over the years while pike fishing.

I really need to fish Middle Saranac a little harder next year. I caught a lot of Smallmouth while I was passing through there on a previous trip, but no Pike or any fish of significant size.
