ADK Ice Out estimate

Being 77F right now here in MA, Im getting restless for a spring trip. With the mild winter we had this year, when do you guys think the lakes will be ice free?

There is an ongoing thread with discussion of the subject (and a fair amount of digression ) in the Hunting and Fishing subforum here: http://www.adkforum.com/showthread.php?t=22726

Depends on the lake or pond, but I saw plenty of folks out enjoying the day on Schroon Lake (with shanties & snow machines) as I drove by on Route 9 Sunday afternoon, on my way home from a much smaller pond a bit further north that still had plenty of solid ice as well. However, inlets & outlets were running pretty strong, and with the short range projected weather forecast, I'd suspect a complete ice-out will be a few weeks early this spring for most Adirondack lakes & ponds.

I posted this on the other thread, but in the interests of redundancy, I'll show it here. There was plenty of solid ice at my Happy Place in the southern ADK's (1300' elevation) today.
