Sargent Ponds Loop

Couple of questions about this area.

Is the Route 3 plowed in winter? (At least as far as the 2 Sargent Ponds trailheads?) Is there generally room to park at one or both of the trailheads?

And does anyone know what the current conditions in this area are? I know that the thaw has melted much of the snow. Do these trails get much snowmobile use? It'd be awesome if I could count on packed down trails thanks to the sleds.

To answer my questions:

Yes, the road is plowed by the town. The 2 trailheads look like they also occasionally get plowed, but not by the town- probably just some local who is helping out. I ended up shoveling out a spot to park.

Right now, there is about 3-4 inches of solid base, with about 2 inches of fresh powder on top. The trails are pretty well broken out, but even off trail I had little difficulty snowshoeing. I don't think this area gets very much snowmobile use at all. There were old sled tracks on the eastern trail, but they turned around about halfway to Grass Pond. The trails are pretty overgrown in spots, especially the further back in you get, and it'd be difficult to maneuver a snowmobile in some places. I would be surprised if more than a handful of snowmobiles venture down this trail in a season.
