I padhed in from the lower dam on Sunday. You have to be crareful to locate the original river channel and not take any of the usual shortcuts over shallows. if you do you will be stuck in the mud, or worse, encounter a previously unknown rock. I had to stand and single foot push my Rapidfire through the sticky mud shallows a couple of times. I learned well, as on the way out today I floated smoothly in sufficient depth while observing others on the way in being not so luicky.
Thanks very much. That's pretty much what I was expecting to hear about between the dams. I agree, #18 is my favorite anti-bug site. The other one I like in bug season is #21. Thanks again and happy paddling!
