Site 18 is well placed to pick up a good stretch of wind, one of the best sites if you need one good for keeping the bugs away.

I paddled in from the lower dam on Sunday. You have to be crareful to locate the original river channel and not take any of the usual shortcuts over shallows. if you do you will be stuck in the mud, or worse, encounter a previously unknown rock. I had to stand and single foot push my Rapidfire through the sticky mud shallows a couple of times. I learned well, as on the way out today I floated smoothly in sufficient depth while observing others on the way in being not so luicky.
