My first trip through was in the mid-70s and by then, the only buildings were the DEC ranger's outpost cabin, a small barn and, if my fuzzy memory is correct, a deteriorating cabin that belonged to a NYC lawyer who had something to do with owning the property prior to the state's acquisition. While I've read many stories about Mother Johnson and her way station (and blueberry pancakes), I've never knowingly seen anything at the site that can be attributed to her.
