Truly enjoyed visiting MSL again. I've been there in the winter and now twice during the warmer months. The loons were active on the pond and the beaver were out as well; heard one small tree come down once it got dark. I also always enjoy hearing/seeing the ravens that hang out in the rock cliffs & ledges about a half mile from the shelter. On this trip we were also visited by a ruby throated hummingbird who I think mistook my hiking partner's red pack for a truly huge flower (LOL).

The lean-to is well cared for and the overall site is pretty clean. We did pick up some garbage but on the whole, it's a place that folks seem to enjoy and are willing to clean up to keep it that way. I just hope it continues in that vein.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.
