I am not sure on the hotels, but I would plan the trip sooner rather then later with the projected temps for the next two weeks. Lake George goes out quick once it starts.

I haven't fished Blue Mountain, but fishing other lakes for lakers I would think in July they will be down in the deeper sections of the lake at the thermocline point which will depend a bit on water...

I can't speak for Osgood Pond as I have not been near it, but if it is anything like the lakes around me they froze very unevenly this year so you could have good ice in one section and then bad ice...

I thought that same thing, but according to DEC website on Hammond Pond Wild Forest it is not a brook trout pond and ice fishing is allowed.

I agree - anything that is left that can sustain naturally reproducing trout shouldn't be mentioned or stocked. Glad to see that some of the ponds are making a comeback though from the acid rain....

I feel like this happened to a lot of creeks when Irene happened back in 2011 and several streams really went downhill for fishing several years afterwards.

For anything that was frozen relatively solid this rain / warm weather melting all of the snow should be a positive. Especially since the next couple days aren't supposed to get above freezing!
