I’m a triathlete (not a good one haha) so i’ve done a fair bit of swimming- i would absolutely not do a distance...

Any cold water fish you pull up right now is as good as dead anyway, our water temps are near all time high right now.
Like you said, it’s really not the time to be trout fishing.

Last time we went down there it was still an issue, but with the snow still in Paul Smiths you’re not getting down that road either way at this point- it isn’t plowed in the winter.

Fish Pond truck trail is a gem and is in good shape- it can be very fun to combine this one with pond skiing & canoe carries.
Hays Brook Truck trail and grassy pond are very nice, gentle terrain...

We often get our first snow in October or November. A decade or 2 ago snow in early December would have been a safe bet- now, probably but no promises. We had 65 on xmas eve a couple years ago.
