I'd like to try for a bushwhack up Palmer Pond Hills, anyone tried it from the north side (S of Palmer Pond)?
Not sure if it might be too much adventure for MDB though.

I think there are some relatively new trails near Palmer Pond and The Branch.
I've looked through a bunch of DEC stuff, but can't seem to find much info.

Friends of mine introduced back country camping...

Friends of mine introduced back country camping to other friends at that site.
It is easily hiked to and generally not a popular site.
But, but, but, this is not a typical year!

You're gonna be close to Powley-Piseco Rd...a 0.5 mile carry gets you to Sand Lake. The inlet is worth a day of exploring. Then there's a hike to Clockmill Pond, very interesting shoreline there....
