I have heard alot of howling including the...

I have heard alot of howling including the occasional long, drawn-out howl which had the character of a wolf. It is tough to know, however, whether that was a wolf or just a hybrid with a heavy wolf...

Don't know if you read the link................it had 99% wolf DNA - a far cry from the usual (for this area) of around 30% wolf DNA.

Indeed.........it's a temporary lull. yesterday with the dry, crisp conditions with plenty of wind, they were nearly non-existent in my area north of Stratford. Don't worry - they won't disappoint...

That is a fascinating study and the result is the recommendation that the Northeastern coyote be called "coywolf", since it has 30% wolf, 60% coyote and 10% dog genes on average.

Not so sure your description of wolf characteristics is accurate as it pertains to the so-called "eastern" or "Algonquin" wolf.
