Secluded Camping in Southern ADK's?

I'd like to take off tomorrow for a three day camping trip somewhere in the southern Adirondacks, but would like to find a more secluded pond or lake to stay at. I've had pretty good luck with that before in the Murphy/Middle/Bennett Lakes area, but would like to try somewhere different. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Nearby the Murhpy/Middle/Bennett Lakes area is the Silver Lakes Wilderness. Definitely some good spots back there on the Northville-Placid Trail. It's early enough in the season that you shouldn't need to worry about too many through hikers on the NPT yet.

If you can spot a second car or get a ride, the first section of the NPT itself in the Silver Lakes Wilderness is the prefect length for a 3 day trip.

If you're willing to go a little bit further north, either the West Canada Lakes or the Siamese Ponds Wilderness areas are great destinations with secluded camping. The West Canada Lakes is a little bit more remote than the Siamese Ponds, but both are great places to explore. Note that some of the dirt roads that access the trailheads in the WCL aren't yet open for the summer.

Those areas all sound good. I've hiked to Spruce Lake before and loved it, but have since switched from driving a pickup to a car, so my choices are a little more limited at the moment. I also thought about going to Moose Mountain Pond, since I'll now have more time for driving than I thought. I noticed you posted a trip report from there recently, is the access okay there for a car to the trailhead?

Those 3 lakes are one of the best day hikes I know. And a great place to spend a few days in the off season.

Have you tried wilcox? Its a little longer but a very nice destination. Same area the West branch of the Sacandaga is a lot less secluded but you can find secluded space deeper in and the river there is real pretty. I'd hike up one of the tribs to the WB of the Sac.

Is it a lake that you are seeking ?

The Siamese Ponds wilderness has a lot of spots, Thirteenth lake is very popular but you can find more secluded bodies of water, hopefully folks fill out the trail book.
