    Basin Sept 2

Well everyone hiking the past couple days has had some of the best weather and conditions of the summer. It was a primo day yesterday I left the Garden at 7:15 and reached Basins top at 12:00. After missing basin twice in the past year this was sweet The views are fantastic being that you're right in the middle of The Range. I hung out for 45 minutes, had lunch and watched people on Marcy. I had promised Judy that we would climb the cliffs on Saddleback together so this was an "up and back". I made good time heading out up and over Shorey's--Is there a worse trail anywhere??--Checked out the Slant Rock LT and some camping areas (for future trips) and made it back to PA at 5:00 sharp. I actually made it home for dinner at 9:30. A great day to be out! 2 more to go.

Nice report and pictures. I'm starting to get jealous The last time I did a peak was Phelps on New Years Eve. As far as the Range is concerned, I've only done Marcy. Do you have any reccomendations as far as which one to tackle next?
