Me and my dad hiked Dial and Nippletop on Sunday the 26. We started out from the lake rd. at around 8:15. Took the H. G. Leach trail and descended the elk pass trail. The weather started off mostly cloudy and humid around 70 degrees at the start. When we reached the fire zone on the shoulder of Noonmark we had some nice views even with the clouds covering the tops of the mountains. Also got cooler as the day went. A guy from Syracuse cought up with us and tagged alonged. When we were approaching Dial it looked as if the sun was going to out but when we reached Dial no Views the Mist rolled in quick. Cought up with a guy that had passed us earlier on Dial. On our way to Dial ment up with i think UnA dogger and her dog. Also passed three other ladies. When we reached Nippletop the views were cloudy but as we waited they got better. It was around 1:30 when we reached the summit. 5 of us at the top Me my Dad, a guy from syracuse, one from Southampton and one from Canada. Got some nice pics on the Summit ate Lunch and left around 2:30. We got down the elk pass trail we decided to head over to fish hawk cliffs and indian head. Views were great there and the weather had almost completly cleared. Made it back to the car at 6:45.
