My family went up to Lake Placid last minute for some shopping and tourist activities. On the spur of the moment, my brother and I decided to do Porter from Cascade Lakes. Cascade was my family's first and only high peak (7 years ago), so at the time I was not old enough to make the short trip over to Porter by myself. I really wanted to do it form the Garden or Marcy Airfield, but I reallly did not want to go shopping. So at 4PM we got dropped off at the tailhead and reached the summit after an uneventful 1 hr 20 minutes of speedy hiking. The skies were hazy but we hung out at the summit for a while anyway and got back to the trailhead at 7. We went to dinner at the newly owned Stefano's Italian Grill which I do not recommend.
