Not a big write-up, just hanging some pictures from this afternoons jaunt to Auger Falls in the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area. The trail is in amazing shape and this is a fantastic destination for beginner hikers. Just use caution around the falls as the Sacandaga River is really howling now. If you find yourself near Wells or Speculator this weekend, take a few minutes and visit Auger Falls.
The stone work was holding up well after the winter with hardly any mud or funk. However, DEC is going to continue the hardening project they started last fall.

- The Auger Falls Trail will be under construction the last two weeks of May 2026 and again during the month of July 2026. Improvements on this trail system are being completed this season. Please stay on the designated trail and take care with your footing in areas where work is occurring.
