A very warm Big Slide climb, 2006-01-07

So, let's see... technically, my climb last Sunday on Big Slide counts as a winter 46, even though there was practically no snow, there was absolutely no need for snowshoes, and the temps were so far above freezing you could have practically worn shorts. I kinda felt like I was cheating.

On the plus side, this kind of weather makes for beautiful and comfortable hiking, and the trail up over the Brothers is one of the more scenic in the Adirondacks. We had an especially talkative and fun group, and that added to the day's enjoyment.

You can view all of the pictures and the writeup here.

Heh, through my experiences alone I'm sure nature's wrath will visit you with a snowstorm during your next spring climb. Never fails to amaze me how it can snow/hail in June ontop of a summit.

BTW: Your site kicks ass. It's very comprehensive and detailed. I have it bookmarked right next to this site.
