    Noonmark Mountain

On Monday i decided to hike up Noonmark via Round Pound. Trail was very wet and when we got to the top of Noonmark it was a bit cloudy. Was hoping for some breaks in the clouds but they didn't come. Very windy at the top, Dix was showing all but the top and every once in awhile a patch of blue sky would open up but never over Dix so i could get a view. Tooks some photos anyway. Can't imagine how great the view would have been if clear. http://www.photosoftheadirondacks.co...ark/index.html

sometimes those dramatic stormy skies can make the best shots. a mountain shrouded in cloud has a certain mystery.
He found himself wondering at times, especially in the autumn, about the wild lands, and strange visions of mountains that he had never seen came into his dreams.

I really like a wild look to the skies over mountains ...makes it look more interesting ...its nice to see these beauties in all differant conditions, if we never had a cloud in the sky...I hate to say it ,but it would be very boring... thank you for sharing your trip shots...

                Hi Spitzna-
Here's another day's views on the path and at the summit of Noonmark. We hiked at the end of November in 2003. The leaves, of course, had fallen and the day was overcast and temps were nippy but, as you mentioned, the views are wonderful.
