Once you get up to the ridge from the Madison hut, you are above treeline until the last four miles or so. From Eisenhower to Pierce you are in and out of scrub that is sometimes over your head. Of course, if you are in the clouds it doesn't really matter.
We too have a lot of other hikes planned, so doing the Presidentials again next year doesn't make sense. Except to try to do them right, to beat our previous times, and to find new goals afterwards.
