Beautiful day for a hike--warm with a nice breeze blowing. Headed to Vly first--nice walk up. Signed in and headed back down for Bearpen. Said hi to Howie at the shack and started up the ATV road. About 100 yards up we decided to head directly up the ridge--a nice steep climb. Made the ridge and started up. As we neared the top we began hearing an incredible amout of noise. At first we thought it was a flock of chukkars, then as we got closer it sounded like ducks. Following the racket we cam upon a smal pond--full of frogs! What a noise. There were hundreds of them. After hanging around the pond we started back up. We got back on the ATV track--took some more pics and headed back down. We knew that Sunday's hike wouldn't be as easy.
