    Colvin-Blake Trip Report 03-05-06

We had a beautiful day on Colvin and Blake yesterday. Snow conditions - excellent; blowdown - minimal. Ran into 'adksteve', who was doing the exact same itinerary as us. Great to meet you guys!

Our upcoming Utah slotcanyons trip means this is the Last winter 46er hike for us this year!

Sounds like great fun--Colvin and Blake are 1 of our choices for next weekend.
Have fun in Utah--What are the plans? I've skied (downhill) there several times.

Hi there. We must have crossed paths in the st. huberts parking lot on Sunday!

We are going to concentrate on the canyons of the Escalante area in southern Utah (in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument). I've always wanted to spend a whole trip in one particular area so that we can see it in detail. I'm looking forward to some good slot canyoning! Here's Here's a link to a slot canyon (Round Valley Draw) that we did in the area last year at the end of our Grand Canyon backpack.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people on this forum would like this kind of outing. Maybe in the future we should get a group together and head down to southern Utah / northern AZ. I so like the area that I think i've gone down about 7 or 8 times in the last 10 years!

We probably started after you and finished before you. I'm afraid our walk was a bit shorter than yours! I did enjoy Noonmark though. The canyons look like so much fun! I was out to Bryce and Zion long ago and always wished to go back but other things always seemed to get in the way. It is a truly beautiful area. Have fun
