Chili Willie Finishes #46 on Allen - Photos

My friend Chili Willie finished his 46 in august on Allen, hiking with his son. He has a digital camera, and a good eye for photos. He also had sunshine!

Here is a link to his pictures.

Webshots, the best in Desktop Wallpaper, Desktop Backgrounds, and Screen Savers since 1995.

I notice from his pictures that what Scoutmaster Tom and I thought was a road on the mountains is really some sort of pondo or brook or wetlands,

Wow, great photos (that track photo #2 intriques me, anyone know what it is).

To the Chill Will, congrats to you.

p.s. there is absolutly nothing that beats the feeling of hiking with your son (daughters too).

      Snapping Turtle?

      Tim

Looking at the picture of the track, then looking at the picture of the turtle and checking out the feet and then looking on the net, I am guessing it might be the track of the snapping turtle, but that's just a guess.

            Congrats!

Ron tell him that if he went 200 feet right from where he took this photo, he would have seen this :

It's a view that impressed me enough to want to rehike Allen someday .

              Thanks - Nice pictures.

              Kevin

I will let him know - gee, I guess that means he will just have to hike it again some day! Me, too, as we saw absolutely nothing from the summit as it was all socked in with clouds.

Sorry I missed you Saturday. Hope you had a great weekend at Puffer Pond or wherever you ended up. Ron

                    Allen

Everyone, thanks for the kind words. Although I finished my 46th this summer, I did not get out nearly enough. At least I made Allen with my best hiking buddy, my son Adam. Allen was his 30th. My next best hiking buddy, Ron (of RonandJon) and I just could not align our schedules this summer.

At least Ron and I were able to spend an enjoyable day wondering around the side of Lower Wolf Jaw. Although we never made the bushwack to the top, I will spin (for this situation) the often used saying, "It's not the summit that makes it worthwhile but the journey." Getting turned around on the side of Lower Wolf Jaw with a great hiking budddy was fun and made it worthwhile.

                    To many great journeys ahead.

                    Ron, congrats on 46 also.
                    Chili Willie
