Wright, Algonquin, Boundary, and Iroquois 8/6/05

My favorite High Peaks excursion thus far. (Numbers eight, nine and ten form me). We had the summit of Wright to ourselves in the early AM, and we found the B-47 crash site and recovered some debris. Algonquin was a little crowded, with a couple of idiots sporting sandals and annoying me with the rings of their cell phones. I really liked, believe it or not, the trip over to Boundary and Iroquois through the cripplebrush. Looking back at Algonquin was amazing. There is one very wet section of this trail, but I can't remember if it is before Boundary or Iroquois. Anyway, stay right when you're on your way to these peaks and you'll stay dry. I also enjoyed the view of the flowed lands from Iroquois and Algonquin. Trail conditions overall were outstanding. Comments and questions welcome. -GG

Some granola crunchers will be along shortly to whip you with a wet noodle.
    Just ask Neil.

Ever notice that the people who are late
are often much jollier than the people who have to wait for them?

The views from Iroquios are some of my favorite. I've been saving Haystack and Iroquios for a perfect day sometime in September/early October. Wallface and Flowed lands are excellent, but I also like looking back at Algonquin from that side.

I'm not sure what you guys mean, but I assume those you are referring to will think I was a monumental fool for examining the crash site and taking with me two tiny shards of metal. Bring the crunchers on..."I'm ready."

I'm with you when it comes to Iroquois, Kevin. I also liked the fact that there were only four other people with us on the summit.
