    Recent winter hikes

Webshots, the best in Desktop Wallpaper, Desktop Backgrounds, and Screen Savers since 1995.

If I can make this work (technology challenged!) here is a link to some photos from recent hikes. Algonquin/Iroquois, Marshall, Saddleback.

    Nice photos!

It certainly gets me motivated to do a few more winter peaks. Maybe I should stop THINKING about climbing Haystack this winter and just go do it! lol

Pictures from Marshall looked pretty sweet, that was after a fresh snowfall correct?

There was a little fresh snow. It was a very cold day. Don't think it got above zero but made everything crystal clear!

Those were beautiful pics. Don't you just love the shape of Gothics from the Saddleback Trail? It always was one of my favorite views of Gothics.

Thanks Sky! Can you access my other albums from that link? I think there is another set from this winter but if not I will put those up as well.

It might be my favorite view in all the peaks. I have a blown up photo in my office as part of my 'portraits of the 46' collection. My desktop is Basin from Saddleback which is also pretty impressive.

Ok, I answered my own question. If you look on the album list and click on More Winter Hikes the set with Allen and the Santanonis are there along with a couple of Catskill pictures. I will add Colden, Armstrong and Seymour in the next few days.

              WOW! AWESOME PICS!
Love the Santanoni pics. So much snow. You even got a shot of the Ironworks. Everyone finds them an eyesore, I find them, "beautiful" from Santanoni. I always called them, "my beloved Ironworks," when referring to them. My favorite was photo 16, "Santanoni from near Times Square." But isn't that Times Square? I have the same pic, but not as beautiful as yours.

You had beautiful weather. Glad you went to Allen's Lookout.

Well right next to Times Square. I believe I was on the Santanoni side of the clearing just south/southeast of the big rock.

                    Colden shots are particularly nice.

Really nice Pics. Thank You. Sure is alot of snow up there!

Holy Smokes! Looked like quite a crowd on Colden that day. The High Peaks, sure do get alot more traffic, over the past couple of Winters.

BTW I don't know if it's just my computer or what, but a few of the pictures were blank. I couldn't get them to show.

That day on Colden we arrived at the same time as a large group that had climbed the dyke. Not sure why some of the shots show white. When I click on them they show up. I'll try to fix it.

Rik or anyone else for that matter (Mavs???), in looking at Marcy from Colden what is Gray?
                          Very nice pics BTW!

                            Neil,
If you look at picture 3 labeled "Marcy from Colden" I believe Gray is between Marcy and Skylight. I'm sure Mavs will correct me if I'm wrong.

More guts than I would ever have! The Trap Dike in Winter? No Way. Thought I would die the first couple of times I climbed it, in Summer.
