Round Lake outlet (adj Little Tupper) Merlins

For an upcoming project, I need to take a few photos of Adirondack-resident Merlins ( a small falcon).

With the popularity of paddlers headed in to Round Lake from little Tupper, thought it would be good to post here.

I've only paddled into Round Lake once, in early fall. I did see a Merlin immediatley in the outlet stream after paddling under the road from little Tupper. Might have been just passing by. Though if I got feedback from others here that paddled there and saw them, I could assume they might have nested nearby. Thanks.

I've paddled Round Lake a few times now. The channel leading into Round from LTL is Round Lake's inlet, not the outlet (which is at the north end of the lake). Last June there were ravens hanging out in a shoreline pine tree between the lakes, but we couldn't get close enough to see if there was a nest. Other than lots of ducks, mergansers, and beaver houses, I haven't noticed anything else out of the ordinary there.

    Pretty spot, though.

Not sure if I'd recognize a merlin, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a nesting pair around there. Although I didn't like the camp sites on Round Lake(neither the new ones freshly carved out of the forest high and away from the water, nor the trashy old reclaimed cabin sites), I did enjoy seeing plenty of wildlife on that pretty little lake. As I paddled into Round Lake for the first time last summer, we were greeted by the sight of a Bald Eagle flying over our heads. It was "magical".
