    Round Lake foliage photos

My wife & I spent last weekend (10/4 - 10/7) on Round Lake, the colors were at peak, weather was warm. All in all a great fall camping long weekend! Stayed at site 3 with nice beach.

Thursday 10/4 was sunny with beautiful blue skies, perfect photo op weather.

    A couple pics attached.

I wish I was there right now!
It only hurts for the first 100 paddle strokes.

It's a garden-variety HP 6MP digital. Fits in the palm of my hand. 3X Optical zoom. Awesome camera & great pics. I forget the model number.

            It's an HP Photosmart R717.

I like it better than my Canon C740uZ.

Those photos are a real tribute to Round Lake. Stayed at site 8 across the lake from 3. What's chances you got a picture of that osprey nest on Buck Island up in Lila. Was there In September and that old stag pine with the nest atop was down and being well absorbed back into nature. Its still a picture in my mind, sure would like a photo of it if you can make that possible.
You and yours, wish you well.

                  Hey Grayelve,

Sandy & I spent a week on Canada Island a little earlier this year (July) and then went back again for a long weekend (Spetember). Each time there was activity in the Osprey nest at the end of Busk Island. WAY too high up and low contrast for any sort of photo with a cheap camera. We could barely see the birds moving around in the nest but they were definitely up there. Could it be another nest you're thinking of that's down? The one with the Osprey nest at the south end of Buck island is still standing as of a month ago or so.

I may have a pic of the nest itself, I'll have to check my archives, but even if I do find one it won't have any evidence of osprey.

Thought maybe we'd run into you again since we've been out to Lila 3 times this year. Maybe next year.

Hi Chaze That was another time in my past for the mental picture of that great old Osprey nest. It was pretty much centered near the shore line in the Northwestern cove of Buck. The root crown is there and every bit of 15 feet across. Covered the shore line East and West of the site put in but didn't catch the activity from the newer nest. shucks. Canada Island, thats like a step into the land of giants with those huge trunks strewn about. Take care for now.
