    Peddle kayaks

Looking for some guidance on peddle driven kayaks and the “motor restriction”. Can anyone tell me for sure if a peddle kayak would fall into the category? Kayak is powered only by human, but I have found some discrepancies on various online sources. It is not the prop kind it has the Hobie fin drive if that makes any difference.
    Thanks,

    Matt

I cannot provide any info regarding the regs, but I have seen them all over the ADK's.

I cant say for sure, but i have a pedal kayak and have looked and looked and never found any regulations that would exclude them in any classification of ADK.

They are prohibited in NYC reservoirs for some reason. They say invasive species, but I don't see how pedal kayaks would be any worse than any other watercraft.

Any watercraft with a motor, gas electric or otherwise, requires registration and is not allowed in wilderness areas.
Any human powered watercraft is fine.
Wind powered would be ok in a wilderness lake.
im always surprised that little Tupper has not become a Mecca for small sailboats.

No issues with pedal driven in my experience. My father has a Hobie outback that we launched at Little Tupper and nobody ever said anything. As mentioned the law refers to motorized equipment. We both have sails on our boats and they are amazing when that wind is blowing on LTL.
