    Rice Mountain

I am a new member and this is my first post. In the 1940's my Father was part owner of a hunting camp on the southern flank of Rice Mountain. It was on or near the northern/eastern bank of Quebec brook not far from Madawaska Pond, and consisted of both a main camp on the shore, and an smaller island camp accessed ( I think ) by walking on wooden planks laid over a cranberry bog. I am planning a trip this spring to try and find this place. I believe it now lies on state land, as it was lost due to non-payment of property taxes. Has anyone in their travels seen a place that would fit this description or have any idea where it might be or how to approach it. I was told that it was accessible only overland or by water, as there were no roads anywhere near it at the time. Thanks very much in advance for responding.

If this is the right lake, it looks like you go rt 30 north to rt 458 and look for Blue Mountain Rd. That should get you into the right (erm ) neck of the woods.
