Bear boards boat to attack man.

Bear hunting season is upon us and if I was looking to shoot me a bear I'd want to know what the guy in this story was using for bait.

"This -- for Vancouver Island -- is not your typical black bear behaviour,'' Hitchcock told reporters."

So does that mean it's typical in places other then Vancouver Island?

There was a case a couple of years ago, I believe in Alaska, where a bear tried to attack a man in a canoe. Wildlife ascertained in that particular case that it was because the bears (grizzly) were starving because encroachment on bear habitat had all but destroyed their food supply.
