8/23 - Great Day, Great Day Out

After seeing my brother's pictures and having to work while he is fishing, I asked my bride if she wanted to go fishing as the stream conditions out west this year were not the best for catching fish.

The weather was beautiful, actually too nice and sunny, but I can't get her to leave the house before 7 or 7:30 AM.

The streams are actually almost too high, but in great condtition for late August.

Fish Up / Not Fish On

We had a great day. We lost more fish than we caught and we also lost the biggest and best fish, but it was still a great day.

Here's how my spouse lands fish. She is a pretty decent caster, but needs a little practice landing fish I think.

Most of our fish always seem to be stockies, but this river may have some natural born fish as a lot of them had really nice shaped bodies and fins and some had parr marks.

So it was really nice getting out. The moon was tucked between some clouds on the walk back. It kinfd of reminded me of the wild Montana skies.

So nothing HUGE to report except a great day out.

8/24/08 was also a great day, it took me 12 years to get my daughter hooked on fishing. After she caught this one i think she is finally hooked.
