Well, I finally got in on the gravy train up there today. I like to fish rivers like that with sink tips and streamers with fast retrieves but this tactic was resulting in broken off fish and missed strikes so I finally broke down and went with the dead drifted bugger. Caught 3 of those 18-20 inch butterballs and lost another in an hour's time. Great way to start the new year!
O.k.... I hate to do this...but,its driving me crazy! Can one of you really nice outdoorsmen(serotonin ,creekwader,or sacco)at least give me a hint to where you are still hooking and releasing so many beautiful browns this time of year.I promise to keep it tucked under my hat.I would be willing to share some secrets of my own(offline of course).I always practice catch and release and make sure my salmonid species are revived and swim back to their domains almost good as before. We even catch and release through the ice.Have`nt kept a fish in 6 years.I love looking at all those gorgeous brownies and like the looks of the river in the background. We can do this offline if you like.Later.

"Get your mind off trout,if you can.I know they`ve got you.I can see it. Every fraternity of sufferers knows its brothers.Trout hook men;men don`t hook trout.Better try and throw the hook while you can.By the time you`re a grown man there probably won`t be a pure trout healthy enough to fiddle with"...
