    It's been a tough year

First, my 11 year old is so hooked on flyfishing he won't stop talking about it. Then, I only got into my favorite ponds once this spring. Now work is so busy that I only fish evenings, so the Browns come real hard...

    Awesome pics.

Question for you: what age did you start getting your son into fishing? I have a 2 year old and I'm looking forward to introducing him into my mania. I know it's still a little early, but I was just wondering how/when you got him into it.

        Great pics

I'm sure you realize how fortunate you are...1) busy at work and I assume making some ching, 2) got a kid that digs flyfishing with pop, and 3) have spare time in the evenings to fish.

        I'd say you're golden

And I can't disagree. With the Adirondacks at our doorsteps we're all golden. I'm looking forward to many a backwoods trip with my boys.

Killgore, I started my boys when they were 7 by building custom flyrods with them and making sure they did enough of the work to call them their own. I engineered lots of trips where the stocking truck had stopped, ensuring a fish or 2 were caught. And a few of those stockers of course became "wild fish", instilling the passion. 7 and 8 made for som frustration but my 9 year old is coming into his own and my almost 12 year old is working on tightening his loops and getting good drifts. They'd have me out every night if time were available.

Man I love to hear stories like that. Great knowing the next generation is coming into its own.

                    Today's success

My 11 year old son Thomas hooked and landed this gorgeous Brown all on his own. He had a Rainbow up to his feet that was even bigger!
