    Yesterdays Catch At Goose Pond

I know there are all good folks here and none of this is directed towards anyone but it could impact everyone with future use of Our public lands.
Jerks that do this should be banned for life from access to public state (our) owned property. It was sad, and even a beer can was left Inside the trailhead sign in along with the 2 propane bottles left at the base of the sign in box (Fools carried it that far why not to their vehicle ? ) Any way, I also noticed a case of empty Heineken cans along Crane Pond Road which I failed to pick up (i was just not thinking after a long day) If anyone heads in there Please stop and remove these. I always carry a bag on my trips to collect others trash, someday I hope that won't have to be the case.

    Total catch for the day:

this was all Fresh and just left recently

...Bless your soul for picking up after the scum bags.

Unfortunately, this problem never seems to go away, especially in the places that are easy to get into. If I could only catch someone in the act....

I was hoping to see a picture of one of those monsters that are in there.

    No fish?

Thanks for picking up after those slobs.

On my 1st outing of the year, I picked up half a dozen Red Bull cans and a few new worm containers. It makes me so angry to think that people can be so apathetic about litter.

I am sure that is why groups like the ALC are adamant about keeping the general public off their land.

At least they were drinking some tasty beer - #9 and Newcastle.... mmm.

I come back with assorted trash that I pick up along the way every time I go out.

I would personally like to thank you for picking up my( I mean our) great outdoors. It's a shame some people out there just don't get it. People like that are ruining the land they and everyone else seems to enjoy. I don't get it. If these people want to live like that, Maybe they should vacation at the land fill and leave the wilderness to the rest of us. I personal come home with pockets full of junk everytime I go out to the woods. (rubberbands, foil, cig butts, and every other little piece of whatever I can find) Agian thank you

Balloons drive me nuts. I often bushwhack through areas that get very, very little traffic and never see any trash - except balloons. I know that in the grand scheme of things they're inconsequential, but when I don't see or anticipate any evidence of human activity for miles, and suddenly come across a balloon, it feels like a slap in the face.

While I'm on this rant, another one of my pet peeves are the town's lunchtime fire sirens. I'll be thinking I'm in the middle of nowhere, enjoying the same type of unmolested solitude and silence that the first Adirondack explorers back in the day did, and off goes some lunchtime fire siren 10 or 20 miles away. Another intrusion from afar.

I feel ya with the garbage situation. I was out at Grizzly ocean in the Pharaoh lakes wilderness this past weekend and the lean-to was disgusting. Trash in the fire pit, which was still smoldering, wrappers thrown all around camp. human feces were found down by the water while collecting fire wood. I cleaned up all but the feces. Its annoying that people down respect the land or the people who use it. Cigarette buts were also all over camp and also all the way down the trail to where the person parked. I was tempted to copy down his number out of the registrar book and give him a call to let him know how disappointed I was. I opted not to waste any more of my time on this person.

That's terrible. How lazy people are. I must say though the leanto I was at this weekend in a heavily travelled area was close to spotless. Although I did find a trail of candy wrappers on the way in....

The day might come where we are limited to bringing flasks...only amateurs hike w beer anyhow.

Nice pick up Ripple, unfortunately most public fishery is littered with garbage, the Kayaderosseras is a shame, you need a dumpster to haul out the stuff, same with all other waters open to the public and close to people, there is a TV set in the Snook Kill anyhow, if you won the mega million thing and bought some acreage with nice streams/ponds etc would you let the public fish/ litter? you would POST like they all do, I never met a fisherman that did not say he carried more out then in, where is it coming from then? maybe forest elves ...

Great job Ripple. Everytime I goto Grizzle, or Stephens I have to pack out stuff. Last Year it was of all things .45 shells from the firepit. Now I know why the new owner doesn't want day hikers going threw or dropped off for the NPT outside his house.

I don't get how you can use two entire propane tanks. Even a lantern on full takes 4 nights to burn up at least. Even a stove. :/ People like that are what gives everyone else a bad name. Judging by the coffee I think we should stalk the local Stewarts and deliver there junk back.

Roland, I saw the t.v. at Snook Kill along with numerous bags scattered about...one of which smelled like it had been there since the 80's. Another thing that drives me nuts is when people change the line on their reel and leave the old line behind! I've gotten tangled up too many times.

More importantly than us humans getting entagled is the number of birds and other wildlife that gets tangled up in the nylon line, and then starves to death slowly.
As I see more and more reports of litter I am becoming much more understanding of "Private Land,Keep Off!"
It always too bad that a few can ruin it for the many,or are the few reproducing more quickly....
Where I live in suburban NYC I can't stand the amount of litter, but I grow immune to some extent, not.
When I see it in ADKs its just beyond comprehension.
