    ice report

Looks like we won't have the same problem of last year with the mid-January ice. Drove up north along 28 saturday and found that most of the smaller bodies of water (Otter, Okara lakes, Quiver pond) were frozen over completely. The larger lakes were open but the bays were frozen. If this keeps up we'll be ice fishing by Christmas.

Got out for some end of season streamer trolling and nailed a couple lakers as dusk was descending (along with the temps-Brrrr!). Three crazy men in a boat when its 25 degrees. My friend's fish came on a orange/white bucktail streamer and mine came on a pink/purple/blue blended wing over orange and yellow belly bucktail.

Nice fish CW! Best time of year to fish the Fulton Chain is late november (if you can take the cold)! Feels good seeing those fish after getting skunked so many times over the summer.

Very nice fish! Not enough ice here yet. I can not wait to get out there. Did see a couple guys dragging a boat behind them, braver than I. If I need a boat to icefish I will stay home.

I agree Shamp ...went with some hardcore walleye icefishermen back in my 20`s...these old guys would row out to the ice in March ,when the ice was going out..and,, get out on the ice ,anchor the rowboat to the floating ice slab, fish all day, catching their limit in big ,fat spawners and jump back in the boat after and head for shore..I did go with them once ...pretty crazy and scary, but I was still single, no kids and alittle crazy back then ...now, we wait til theres a good ,solid 6"`s or more of black ice out before we go...hopefully Indian will be ready News Years Eve weekend... Anybody know about the ice on Indian?

Thats the hard part of ice fishing , by the time I get a hole big enough for the boat , my buddies want to go trolling.

Icefished Limekiln today. Caught some decent splake. Ice was not the best, only about 2 inches of good ice with 8 inches of white ice on top with some slush and snow. Both of those splake had multiple juvy perch in their stomachs. Can't complain about an icefishing day when its warm, the flags were flying and fish were on the ice.

                              Anybody else been out?
