    Siamese Ponds/Deer Hunting

Is the Siamese Ponds wilderness area along Rt.8 a commonly hunted area? Looks like a huge chunk of land, with not many mountains or hills. Looks pretty good to me.

There's a hunting camp right there at the county line on Route 8. I know that on several occasions, bear dogs have been present in there.

Siamese Ponds has good big game hunting...

Plenty of great wilderness hunting opportunities still exist in this vast area. Also a lot of great history of hunting in the 1930's thru 1960's as well. A few good books have been written about the past outdoors adventures in that area. One of my favorites is Adirondack Cabin Country by Paul Schaefer. A classic. Read that and you will want to explore it for sure.

Bear dogs? Better get them some clothes.
