    Smallies on the fly...

Went out to harass the local bass and leave the poor trout alone this hot month ...had alot of fun hooking and playing these feisty jumpers...they pulled as had as a big trout would for their size....most averaged 10-12 '`s ...but my cousin Ray hooked a whopper on worms that looks around 16-17 "s!!!...

Definitely gotta pursue more of these black bass with an attitude...heres a few we caught...

I caught mine all on my black peacock woolly buggers while Ray caught bigger ones on the ol` garden hackle(worms)..

        Th,

No I did`nt.....I can`t believe how hard they hit...I was fishing a kinda slow deep pool and had to strip the bugger to keep it moving and they would slam it hooking themselves, then going airborne...I`ll have to try differant color buggers , maybe I`ll get bigger ones like my cousin caught ...have fun with them this weekend... Let us know what you catch...

WB, I see you found the spot. They make me look forward to the warm water and open up a whole new season of killer fishing.

Well if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. My wife and I did a short hike, swim, and oh yeah, some flyfishing on the same river as WB, only at least 80 miles farther north. My wife, using two flies had (2) doubles as two fish hit her flies. I caught this bad boy. Nice day. The water was very warm.

                  Hey Marz,

Glad you gave in to leaving the poor trouts alone...and got into some smallie action...you must`ve had a ball...they are incredible fighters on the fly rod...I just had to get out again tonite to try for some more in a differant river...and boy did I hit the honey hole...hooked and landed about 20 and also had fun catching big fat creek chubs...almost thought they were trout when they hit and tail walked showing me a silver flash...broke a monster off that I chased upstream as it tore up the riffle only to break me off on some shale sticking out of the water..then switch my leader to 3x and was able to keep more on...they`re incredible fighters...both fast and strong, made the reel scream like a steelhead was on...heres a few from todays action...
