Spruce Lake:Can you drive car to trailhead?

I asked this before, in the Spring, but the road there was not open. I believe it's about a 12.8 mile drive on the "Sled Harbor" dirt road. Has anyone driven back to the gait where I think it's a 2 1/2- 3 mile hike to Spruce Lake? Can a regular car make it? Is the fishing worth it this time of year? Thanks for any info:

I think you can make it without any trouble in a car. If anything, it may be a little slick if it's wet out. The only thing I can tell you about the fishing is that you'll want a boat. You can fish from shore in a few places, and I think the deeper part is the southern end, and there is a small point you can fish from just north of the first lean-to.

Be sure to make note of the junction with the NPT when hiking in/out. This can be tricky to find. At least it was for me last year.

Depending upon the type of car you have, you should probably be able to make it if you're very careful. There are some rough patches on the narrow road to the Pillsbury Mtn trailhead.

Once a year, go some where you've never been before.

        Now THAT is an understatement!!

There is also some real bad spots past the third bridge before you get to the trail head. With all this rain it may be worse.
